Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from farms make up 10 percent of the total emissions generated in the United States. US agriculture and the dairy industry, in particular, have set new goals for reducing GHGs on farms. The Nutrient Management Spear Program has just released a new fact sheet to help you better understand the GHGs that come from dairy farms and their sources, carbon sequestration, how farms can inventory their GHG footprint and a discussion of the types of tools available to do those inventories.
